Dungeons 3

Through enticing the dark elf priestess Thalya from the fluffy clutches of the surface world to become his chief lieutenant, the Dungeon Lord has found a way to direct his campaign of conquest from the confines of his underground lair. With Thalya on the front line, and the united forces of evil to support her, players will have to use every trick in the book to best those do-gooders of the overworld, once and for all!
Unleash your dark side by creating a unique underground dungeon from a huge array of rooms, traps and structures. Raise the most terrifying army the world has ever seen, by choosing from despicable creatures such as orcs, succubae, zombies and much, much more. Then, once you have built your forces, emerge from the darkness and guide your army to the light of the overworld, where you will corrupt the land and dispatch anything even vaguely heroic, cute or unicorn-shaped. And in a first for the Dungeons series, experience randomly generated levels, so that no two sessions are alike – never-ending fun for any evil conqueror!

  • Size does matter: Extensive single player campaign with 20 missions and more than 20 hours of playtime, randomly generated levels, a brand new co-op mode for two players, more rooms, and more unique abilities.

  • Dungeons 3 proves that you do not need earth shattering changes to make a great sequel. The game very much feels like a loving update to its predecessor and the small splashes do more than enough to freshen things up. Easily the most polished and refined Dungeons game to date and Evily as good as the game that started the genre 20 years ago.

  • Realmforge have finally got the formula right. Dungeons 3 is plain, straight, addictive fun from start to finish. Both Overworld and Dungeon sides are kept relatively simple so things never truly get frustrating, and every part of it remains satisfying, from smacking your minions to blasting dwarves in the face and watching their bodies fly across the floor. The developer have made sure both sides are supremely playable and compliment each other well, with loads of neat touches and details to make sure you always know what’s going on. That things can get a little repetitious is the only real downside, but with this formula I don’t think Realmforge can better it further. And Thalya’s great. Yes, fine, and the Narrator too. Don’t want him sulking on me.

  • Dungeons 3 is a solid Dungeon manager that will keep you entertained for many hours between the fun gameplay, loving the attention to the details and endless puns and jeers of Thalya and the Narrator towards each other and famous franchises. If you are tired of the paladins and people who play them, this is the game for you.

  • Dungeons III is a game with a double soul: the first is the dungeon management like Dungeon Keeper, the other one is a real time strategy combat oriented. The mix works great and the humor that permeates the whole production makes every moment played fun.

  • Dungeons 3 comes with the same style as its predecessors, mixing strategy and dungeon management with a great sense of humor. Few innovations compared with its previous installment, but a game that offers hours and hours of entertainment.

  • Dungeons 3 has taken the series to its highest point yet. While overbearing on the forced comedy, it can be genuinely funny. Most of all, though, it's addictive. Dungeons 3 features incredibly polished gameplay with great visuals and audio and the wide variety within the campaigns 20 missions never gets boring.

  • Dungeons 3 has finally started to develop its own mechanics. As a result, it's simply the best game in the series.

  • Well done successor of the homage to Dungeon Keeper, which consistently expands the strengths of the predecessor and mends some vulnerabilities...In the end dungeons 3 might not be a masterpiece, but if you are looking for a good dungeon strategy again, you can't go wrong.

  • An RTS full of humor, with lots of options and an interesting amount of hours based on levels and content. A great experience for the fans of the series.

  • A fun, interesting dungeon builder that lacks confidence in its own identity. Clever mission design with an interesting overworld/dungeon dynamic is overshadowed by an over reliance on pop-culture parody.

  • PC Games

Dungeons 3 drowns in terribly extensive gags and exhausting talk - of course, humor is always a question of taste, but where I found dungeons 2 to a certain extent still quite funny, meets dungeons 3 my nerve any more. Less comedy, more gameplay please.

  • Dungeons III is a good hybrid of real-time strategy and dungeon management. The quests are fun, the simple mechanics are tight, and the humor is nice, even if it can be grating at times. Its lack of difficulty will turn off anyone looking for a challenge, and the lack of a community means that those who like playing with others will find nothing here. The whole experience is worth it if you like what's on display here.

  • While better than its predecessor, Dungeons 3 still is miles away from the classic Dungeon Keeper 2. While the core mechanics are pretty decent, there still is a lot of untapped potential left. Instead the team focused on the narrative with its abysmal jokes - the script is a gag-a-thon that manages to miss its target in almost every aspect.

  • Overall, Dungeons 3 was a mixed bag for me, mostly because I found the campaign to be sort of a chore. It took me 30 hours to finish its 20 missions, and while the humor was great, the lack of challenge took away any sense of tension or excitement, and I knew at the start of every mission that I was going to win after about 90 minutes. I was also sort of surprised that the focus of the game is way more on the surface (where everything interesting happens) rather than the dungeons (which all look about the same), when it should have been the opposite. So while Dungeons 3 isn’t a terrible game or anything, it’s certainly a title where I’d recommend that you wait for a sale before purchasing it.

  • We've enjoyed being evil in Dungeons 3, thanks to its design, personality and sense of humor. It would've been nice to see a better multiplayer implementation, but if you like the series, give this episode a try.

  • CD-Action

Dungeons III offers what Dungeons II (a limited clone of Dungeon Keeper) offered two years ago, expanded with simple RTS mechanics. It’s a competent game, but its story (along with the humor) is lame, the interface needed more work and though the dungeons look really good, visuals above ground are... colorful (that’s the only positive thing I can say about them). [13/2017, p.57]

  • Dungeons 3 lets us with a frown. The management part is very good with lot of possibilities but on the other hand, RTS part is too classic. It's too redundant to be a fully enjoyable experience.
