A game that might have had retro appeal, had it been a game released about 10 or 20 years ago. As a modern release it seems far too dated to compete with similar titles.
Boring, uninteresting and unfinished RPG. It tries to elicit nostalgia, but the magic of its forebears from days gone by is completely missing.
The game has a really interesting world, lore, and story, that could easily get you into playing it. But the gameplay aspects, from a fixed camera, broken combat and save system, a bundle of bugs and boring monsters, drag the game into the ground.
Eternity: The Last Unicorn’s one redeeming quality doesn’t do much redeeming, though. The game still has some major issues, first of which is simple—it’s not fun to play. Nostalgia is a feeling video games and entertainment have been profiting off increasingly within the last few years, which is great when the end products are well-executed. But instead of pulling inspiration from the Nintendo 64 era of gaming, Void Studios just made a game that belongs in it.
Fixed camera angles, boring gameplay, wooden animations, and poor localization all mar Eternity: The Last Unicorn beyond the point of being anything approaching enjoyable.
