  • The AI does a solid job of pushing you hard, and also makes its fair share of stuff-ups which, if you are unlucky, can leave your car ruined. It's this kind of dynamic racing that is fun and keeps us coming back for more.

  • GRID 2 for PC is one of the best racing games around, thanks to an excellent AI and gorgeous graphics.

  • GRID 2 is a great arcade racing game. The crashes are insane, the races are intense, and it looks excellent on PC. Moreover it presents many interesting car classes and events, the AI is one of the best out there and races are fast and adrenalinic.

  • Grid 2 is a racing game that rewards skill without punishing you for the tiniest mistakes, letting you master a simple system with a forgiving attitude. It may stray too close towards the easy side of the scale at times, and it'll be interesting to see how the game works online (which unfortunately wasn't tested in this review), but its career mode is well worth playing and you won't be satisfied until you've mastered every single corner.

  • GRID 2 doesn’t insist on tuning, there is no setup hassle – just driving fun with a great sense of speed. Unfortunately some problems remain untouched, among them the very aggressive AI.

  • Grid 2's LiveRoutes system – where upcoming junctions are populated on the fly to avoid track repetition – helps alleviate the lack of drama, and is where this game shines.

  • Grid 2 is an accomplished and visually strong racer let down only by a bafflingly lame Career mode narrative.

  • GRID 2 will undoubtedly please many fans of racing games, but it hasn't got the same level of magic its predecessor had. The game has a simple, arcade driving model and really pretty graphics that should appeal to casual gamers, and a really demanding and complex multiplayer mode for hardcore fans. What is more, the engine's optimization is flawless - GRID 2 looks and runs great even on older computers.

  • A top-notch racing game that artfully straddles the line between arcade and simulation, without being either too daunting or too simplistic.

  • The more time you spend with Grid 2, the more you feel like its caught in a conflict of personality. However, there are no problems here that can’t be fixed with a patch or two, and racing fans will find plenty to enjoy. Here’s to hoping that Codemasters will support the game post-release.

  • A well-curated car list, a great sense of speed, and a well-thought out career mode combine in a racer that is a lot of fun to play through.

  • Indeed, if you are a gamer that doesn’t spend much time in a single sitting, then GRID 2 will suit because of the short, speedy events. I was personally disappointed by the short length of the Endurance races, but can overlook my disappointment somewhat. The rest of the game plays really well.

  • An entertaining, professionally produced mainstream racing game for a mainstream audience. 95% may rejoice. I am one of the other 5%. [Heiko Klinge]

  • Codemasters still brings that balance of simulation and arcade racing with great graphics, quality sound and solid gameplay, but what stops GRID 2 from being this generation’s swansong racing game is its sheer lack of any real new ideas that made the first GRID such a cutting-edge racer for its time.

  • This is a gorgeous, exciting game.

  • GRID 2 is an action-packed and intense experience, where the cars behave like in a Hollywood movie. It is an entertaining arcade racer, but there are a few flaws. The AI is weak, the number of tracks should be higher and the game is too simplified in a few areas.

  • Every situation in GRID 2 feels the same, and there is a reason. Having collected more than 50 cars in my virtual garage, I can’t point out my favorite ones – they all behave the same way, without any distinctive quirks of ‘character’. And locations that repeat ad nauseum only make this feeling worse.
