Mega Man Legacy Collection is an object lesson for how game compilations should be engineered, providing rock-solid adaptation to a new platform, respecting the material’s historic context, and exercising restraint.
Whether you are a returning fan or looking for an experience similar to Shovel Knight, this collection has a lot to offer. The core gameplay has not lost it’s potency with age. For those looking for old school challenge or experience the definitive version of the early Mega Man classics, look no further than the Mega Man Legacy Collection.
Finding your favorite Mega Man is an invitation to one of gaming's more respectable conversations. Declaring an answer—whether it's fueled by nostalgia, objective truth, or genuine appreciation—is drawing line in a sand, and it's a resolution Mega Man Legacy Collection is designed to facilitate. It's not only how you remember these six games, it's how you want others to see them, too.
For both longtime fans of the series and newcomers experiencing the struggle against the nefarious Dr. Wily for the first time, what Capcom have essentially wrought with the Mega Man Legacy Collection is a consummate assembly of the franchise’s 8-bit era outings.
Mega Man Legacy Collection does not offer anything new, but the old has a new tasty cover. Aside from the disappointment that are the new challenges and achievements, this is an excellent compilation. The old games are presented with care and emulated perfectly. [Oct 2015]
The new offering from Digital Eclipse is a nice really collection. It will probably be more appreciated by older and nostalgic gamers, but we must recommend it to the younger ones as well, because it represents an important piece of videogame history.
There's little to tell about this collection, since it is simply that, a collection. It does have some great games, but there aren't any remarkable additions to the original experience.
