Set in France in the year 2023, the country is governed by a dictator who rules by absolute religious power. A mysterious ship shaped like a pyramid has just appeared in the sky and sent representatives to speak with the French government.

As Nikopol, you will find yourself in a suspenseful adventure to find your father and thwart a dangerous conspiracy. Entangled in political intrigue, you're caught between two worlds, one of anarchy and one of immortality.

  • A challenge worth taking on. It's fun to look at, fun to play, and it's even fun to call someone you feel might be a bit smarter than you and drag them over to look at a tricky part.

  • Nikopol is a concise, smoothly flowing sci-fi adventure that offers plenty of challenge for the old school crowd and a more pleasantly streamlined and updated approach to the genre for anyone who’s been longing for something a little different.

  • This is an adventure game that rises above the crowd in terms of great story and immersive gameplay elements. There is just the right mix of puzzles and dialogue, plus lots of action. The atmosphere is fitting, and the animation nicely done.

  • Nikopol has a great storyline, full of twists and turns and very faithful to the style and the art of Enki Bilal. Unfortunately as the biggest part of all the graphic adventures there's no replay value, and this problem is particularly important because the game is a little bit short.

  • Nikopol is a remarkable graphical adventure with enough details to recommend it to those that are fans of the genre. It might be too complicated, but the the ingenious puzzles and the brilliant and rare mix of relaxed and hysterical atmospheres make it worth a chance.

  • It is professionally done with good graphics, good voice acting and challenging puzzles.

  • A brave mix of Egyptian mythology, „Blade Runner“ and „The fifth Element“. Brave, but successful! If you let the atmosphere of the game work, you won’t be disappointed. Sadly, the riddles you have to solve in the game aren’t as good as the rest.

  • As long as you go with the flow, soak up the excellent atmosphere and don’t let yourself get too frustrated by some of the puzzles, there’s a pretty enjoyable adventure to be had.

  • I wouldn’t recommend Nikopol to novice adventure game players, but veterans might find it worthwhile, and it’s certainly better than White Birds Productions’ other current offering, Sinking Island.

  • LEVEL (Czech Republic)

Good story supported by stylish graphics resembling the world of Blade Runner. Pity the adventure is so short and technical flaws don’t allow a high score. [Nov 2008]

  • AceGamez

High quality presentation isn't enough to save Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals from its own shortcomings though and ultimately it isn't going to turn many heads.

  • Even for a French adventure, Nikopol is awfully surreal.

  • PC Format

How the hell does such a simple system manage to be this fiddly? [Feb 2009, p.100]

  • Regardless, the gorgeous look and feel of the game is poorly served by bad design decisions and ultimately fails as an enjoyable experience.
