Rise of Industry

Rise of Industry is a strategic tycoon game where you build and manage your growing industrial empire in a living, breathing, and procedurally generated world set in the 1930s that is constantly evolving and adapting to your playstyle.
As a budding entrepreneur, you will build factories, construct efficient production lines, move raw materials, produce finished goods, and arrange trade with the world's developing cities, providing them with the resources they need to flourish - for as they grow and prosper, so do you.
However, it won’t always be a smooth ride to magnate status. Random business events and stock auctions will keep you on your toes, all while A.I. rivals compete for market share and look for ways to grow and exploit enemy weaknesses - beware of the hostile takeover.
Designed with an eye towards both accessibility and depth, Rise of Industry has enough strategic complexity and replayability to satisfy the most experienced fans of the genre, while its simple-to-understand mechanics ensure that new players will love it as well.

  • Experience tailored for every player - Specialise in just trading, production, gathering or any combination and research your way to bigger and better things.
  • Bid for contracts to get the upper-hand over your rivals.
  • Produce over 150 individual products, managing every step along the way from raw material to end product. Only the highly skilled entrepreneur will complete the complex production chains and take items such as cars, computers and other luxury products to market.
  • Build and manage a solid transportation network to enable the efficient transfer of goods via plentiful trucks, speedy trains and high capacity airships.
  • Be prepared for fierce competition – Advanced town and city A.I., make for an intelligent and changing game world so you won’t be the only one looking for the best deal.
  • Town personalities – adapt a suitable approach for every town or face their economic backlash.
  • Huge, procedurally generated maps mean that you’ll always have room to expand your empire, whether in testing scenarios or sandbox mode where imagination is your only limit.
  • Be quick to adapt to the current business climate with contracts and random events keeping you on your toes and cash flowing in.
  • Balance environmental impact with productivity. Churn out the products at the expense of nature, or be a conscientious industrialist, balancing the delicate lay of the land with your hunger for profit.

  • Rise of Industry goes out of its way to provide you with options. From its custom difficulties to the extensive research trees, there an enormous amount of replay value. With so many plates spinning simultaneously, it’s inevitable that one or two come crashing down, but no one said building an empire would be easy.

  • Beautiful style, polished interactions, but ultimately it just runs out of things to do.

  • Although its light tutorial and lack of feedback throw it off balance, Rise of Industry’s in-depth production tools and supply chain mechanics - not to mention waffle options - will meet the demands of any production sim fan.

  • I am confident that the game will stabilize over time but I cannot help feeling Rise of Industry should have stayed in Early Access a month or two longer. As it stands, the game is bursting from the seams with unfulfilled potential.

  • Rise of Industry will scratch an itch for the enterprising industry builders, the spreadsheet-clutching efficiency aficionados and the capitalist megalomaniacs. But if you’re not strongly of that persuasion – myself included – it’s still satisfying to see your business empire and distribution network expand, cities thrive and balance book increase. Or, you know, heartbreaking when that doesn’t happen.

  • With a solid gameplay, Rise of Industry had made me tons of fun. But in the meantime, it is really similar to Industry Giant II. Other flaws include lacking optional road design and usurious loans etc.

  • Rise of Industry has significant depth with heavy focus on logistics and supply management. Unfortunately, there's not much else for you to enjoy.

  • Rise of Industry is fundamentally sound, but it goes from boom to bust too quickly. Poor tutorials make the game hard to get into, and once you do get the hang of things, you’ll find the magic is short-lived due to a lack of depth and polish. There is fun to be had with Rise of Industry, but budding tycoons concerned about value may want to invest elsewhere.

  • This vastly ambitious tycoon aims to emulate its legendary predecessors, but right now, it’s not even halfway there. It doesn’t really feel like a full game.

  • Rise of Industry does not live up to its own claim of "having enough strategic complexity and replay value" "to satisfy the most experienced fans of the genre" (quotations from the developers).

  • As it stands, though, Rise of Industry is a middle-of-the-road sim that somehow manages to simultaneously embody addictive fun and irritating mundanity.

  • LEVEL (Czech Republic)

To copy the Industry Giant like this turned out to be unfortunate. Although the production chains are pleasantly complex in the Rise of Industry, trading is unrealistic and the game won´t offer anything besides the economy. A wasted opportunity! [Issue#295]
