Can't remember another adventure game that features such caustic satire on real life phenomena of the era in which it's being released. It tries to send various messages in all directions and becomes a strong voice against violence and racism events.
I loved playing through all three episodes of SLOP and the way I see it a game shouldn’t be any less fun if the graphics or animations aren’t exactly on point. If you’re looking for a side game, or a couple cheap laughs at the expense of Melvin’s remarks, I recommend this game. It’s charming and it’s got a lot of great things going for it.
Supreme League of Patriots is kind of a mixed bag: you have a decent adventure game that tries to work in a new direction, driven by plot and dialogue more than random puzzles and inconvenient coincidences that force you to play MacGyver or to do random strangers favors and run errands in exchange for items that could have easily been acquired from any department store.
As it stands, Supreme League of Patriots it well made of unremarkable adventure game.
The first three-part “season” of Supreme League of Patriots wants to be super-funny but ends up leaving too many opportunities unexplored to maintain interest.
Snappier writing and delivery might’ve made this premise work better, however not even some entertaining puzzles and wisecracks from Melvin can make this superhero adventure fly.
Painfully slow to play, out of tune and obnoxious when it came to handling Kyle’s character(s), and grating to listen to when people weren’t talking, it took what could have been a delightful story and stretched it on a rack, set it on fire, and forced me to randomly talk with four people before grabbing the bucket of water I could clearly see on the counter to try to help put it out.
Wants to mock gaming clichés and point out popcultural absurdities, but it’s a pathetic attempt that insults player’s intelligence. [03/2014, p.62]
